Now Open at Mahekal Beach Resort
Mahekal’s newest oceanfront restaurant and bar, Fuego, offers an ever-changing array of Mexican cuisine that is locally sourced from the surrounding area, in step with the seasons and tides. The “Tulum-style” wood-burning oven restaurant features “Farm-to-Fork” dining accompanied with a relaxed vibe in a simple, laid-back atmosphere. Executive Chef Crescenciano Nerey prepares all meals over the open flames of the wood-fired oven grill, and serves up vibrantly colored dishes, such as Yucatan-style sausage with red peppers and garlic bread, Caribbean Grouper slow roasted with garlic and fine herbs and Mexican Octopus drizzled with oregano oil and sprinkled with sea salt and accompanied by Mayan salsa and rice.
Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, the restaurant features natural, simple décor with standout designs ranging from antique wood furniture and huge palapa-style roof, to different elements of glass, metal and plastic featured throughout and flooring made up of brick, wood and tile.

Guests of Mahekal Beach Resort can enjoy Breakfast at Fuego as part of their meal plan; breakfast service at Fuego is seasonal; and subject to resort occupancy in the summer months. For dinner, menu prices apply for Fuego, however, guests on the meal plan, may use a $375.00 MXN per person credit; not applicable on beverages, towards the food portion cost of their meal.
